Breve Profilo Professionale:

Già professore di Economia presso University College London e l’Università di Stoccolma, è attualmente docente di Macroeconomia ed Economia politica all’Università di Zurigo.

È presidente eletto della European Economic Association, direttore scientifico di UBS International Center of Economics in Society, Fellow dell’Econometric Society e condirettore di NBER Economic Fluctuations Group on Income Distribution and Macroeconomics.

Ha ricevuto il riconoscimento Yrjo Jahnsson Award (miglior economista europeo sotto i 45 anni) e il Sun Yefang Award della Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

È condirettore di “Econometrica”, ex direttore del “Journal of the European Economic Association” ed ex direttore responsabile di “Review of Economic Studies”.

I suoi interessi abbracciano la crescita economica, lo sviluppo, l’economia politica, l’economia cinese e la macroeconomia. Ha pubblicato articoli su diverse riviste scientifiche, fra cui “American Economic Review”, “Econometrica”, “Journal of Political Economy”, “Quarterly Journal of Economics”, “Review of Economic Studies”.
