Until July 2009, he was Research Advisor of the External Members of the Monetary Policy Committee of the Bank of England. Before this he was Visiting Researcher at the Center for Financial Studies (Frankfurt) and at the Centre de Recerca en Economia Internacional of the University of Pompeu Fabra. He has worked as a consultant with the European Central Bank and the Chamber of Commerce in Milan, and is currently an academic consultant at the Bank of England.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Surico teaches both masters (MBA and Executive MBA) and PhD-level courses and has received numerous honours and awards for his work. Amongst this, he was awarded:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Philip Liverhulme Prize 2011 for exceptional work by a young research scholar under the age of 36, for his original and significant contributions in the field of Economics<\/li>\n<li>the MBA Best Teacher Award 2011 from the London Business School Student Association, determined by student vote<\/li>\n<li>Excellence Award in Global Economic Affairs 2011 from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, Porsche Scholarship, as best economist under the age of 35 in the research area of global economic affairs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He is Fellow of the Phd in Economics at the Bocconi University.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Surico&#8217;s research has been published extensively in leading international academic journals, such as The American Economic Review,
