Professional Profile:

Jonathan Figoli is an author, speaker and commentator on geoeconomics. He studies the major transformations reshaping the global economy and explains what they mean for businesses, markets, wealth and decision-making, through five forces acting together: geopolitics, energy, technology and artificial intelligence, demographics, and finance and capital.

Alongside his work on global scenarios, he explores how cognitive biases and emotions shape economic decisions. In 2019 he brought Nobel laureate Richard Thaler, the father of nudge theory, to Italy for his first live appearance in the country, as the headline speaker at PFEXPO Gold Edition, an event on behavioural finance and investment decisions.

His latest book, “La Geopolitica del Denaro” (The Geopolitics of Money), published by Hoepli in 2026, examines how debt, currencies, energy, technology and great-power rivalry are transforming the economic system and the choices of businesses and investors. He is currently working on a new book for Hoepli on demographics, longevity and the intergenerational transfer of wealth.

As a keynote speaker and moderator, he has given more than a thousand live talks, including keynotes, conferences, round tables and corporate events for executives, entrepreneurs, professionals and investors. He has spoken at Focus Live, Altroconsumo’s Festival Futuro, Manageritalia events and client events organised by private banking networks such as Fideuram and Banca Generali.

He is Editorial Director of FinanceTV, where he has conducted more than two thousand conversations with economists, academics, executives and leading figures in the economy. He is also Scientific Director of ProfessioneFinanza, the economics and markets editorial platform he founded.

He began teaching at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan at the age of twenty-four and has worked in economic education and outreach for more than twenty years. He is President of IICEE Italy (International Institute for Culture and Economic Education) and heads the Wealth Manager vertical of Manageritalia Executive Professional. He is a registered journalist (Ordine dei Giornalisti, publicist register), has appeared on Sky TG24 and contributes to magazines, radio and newspapers.
