Professional Profile:
Federico Petroni is a geopolitical analyst. A member of the editorial board at Limes from 2012. From 2021, he coordinates the Scuola di Limes, an education program on geopolitical analysis and culture dedicated to junior and senior profiles.
Specialized in the United States, he writes a weekly column on Limes called Fiamme Americane, dedicated to how domestic discord impacts on U.S. foreign policy.
At the Scuola di Limes, he teaches lessons dedicated to how the human factor, e.g. national cultural characteristics, shape the trajectory of the geopolitical actors analyzed.
From 2017 to 2020, he also lectured at the Geopolitics chair at the Università Vita e Salute – San Raffaele in Milan. He hold lessons and seminars on the history and strategy of the United States, France, the United Kingdom, NATO and the geopolitics of the Arctic.
He co-founded and presided Geopolis, a cultural association whose mission is to debate geopolitics in public. He regularly commentates current international affairs on the media and at public conferences.
He has been part of iMerica, a group of analysts and information designers that has worked with Wired, Ispi and Treccani. iMerica produced maps and graphs for the Atlante Geopolitico, edited yearly by Treccani.
