Alessandra Sensini, multiple Olympic windsurfing champion, served as Vice President of CONI (the Italian National Olympic Committee) from 2017 to 2020.
Since 2013, she has led the Youth Sector of the Italian Sailing Federation, and since 2021 she has also been Director of the FIV Foil Academy powered by Luna Rossa.
She competed in six Olympic Games, winning the Gold Medal in 2000 (Sydney), the Silver Medal in 2008 (Beijing – China), and two Bronze Medals in 1996 (Atlanta – USA) and 2004 (Athens – Greece).
Her remarkable achievements also include 10 World Championship titles, 5 European Championship titles, two Mediterranean Games titles, a Windsurf Professional Circuit World Cup, and 23 Italian national championships.
In 2000 and 2004, she was awarded the CONI Gold Collar, Italy’s highest sporting honor, and in 2006 she received the Diploma d’Onore. The first woman in history to win four Olympic medals in sailing, in 2008 she was honored with the prestigious ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award.
