1. The Anchor Point

We live in a time when everything seems to be accelerating. Organizations face constant change, complex decisions, increasing pressure, growing responsibilities, and increasingly unpredictable scenarios. The mountains are one of the few places where these dynamics emerge in their purest and most authentic form.
As an Alpine Guide, Anna Torretta leads individuals and groups through environments where safety does not depend on absolute control, but on the ability to read the context, build trust, take responsibility and make conscious decisions. Through personal stories, powerful imagery and direct audience engagement, the mountain becomes a compelling metaphor for understanding the challenges of professional and organizational life.

2. The Rope Team as a Model for Teamwork
In the mountains, nobody climbs alone. A rope team is built on trust, shared responsibility and awareness of one’s role. Each individual is expected to contribute their best, but success ultimately depends on the quality of the connection between every member of the team.
The rope team therefore becomes a powerful metaphor for collaboration, distributed leadership and collective responsibility.
3. The Knot That Connects
One of the most distinctive aspects of the experience is a practical activity involving every participant. Each attendee receives a one-meter piece of climbing rope.
During the keynote, Anna teaches participants how to tie the Figure-Eight Knot, also known among mountain guides as the knot that creates the rope team. It is the essential knot of the rope team. The knot that connects the first and the last climber. The person leading the way and the person protecting the team.
Through this simple yet meaningful gesture, participants experience trust, connection and shared responsibility in a tangible way.
At the end of the session, everyone takes home their knot and their piece of rope as a lasting symbol of the experience.

Professional Profile:
Anna Torretta is an Alpine Guide, author, corporate speaker and architect.
Born in Turin, Italy, in 1971, she lives and works in Courmayeur, at the foot of Mont Blanc. In 2005 she joined the historic Courmayeur Mountain Guides Society, becoming its first and only female guide.
One of the leading figures in Italian female alpinism, she was for many years Italy’s top competitive ice climber, winning multiple national titles and becoming Ice Climbing World Vice-Champion in 2006.
Her climbing achievements include some of the most significant female ascents on ice, mixed terrain and big walls, from the Alps to the Himalayas and Yosemite. In 2006 she completed a solo ascent of Ama Dablam (6,852 m) in Nepal, and in 2024 she joined the K2-70 Women’s Expedition in Pakistan.
For more than twenty years she has guided people in the mountains, transforming her experience in extreme environments into lessons on trust, responsibility, leadership and decision-making under uncertainty.
She is the author of:

In 2025 she received both the title of Chevalier de l’Autonomie from the Aosta Valley Region and the Civic Merit Award of the City of Turin for her contribution to mountaineering and mountain culture.
Today she combines her work as an Alpine Guide with corporate speaking and leadership training through her program The Anchor Point, focused on leadership, trust and the development of high-performing teams.
